Prose – in both its large and small forms – had a productive period in the modern era. As Friedrich Schlegel already notes in his essay On the Study of Greek Poetry, prose is »the very essence of the moderns«. What forms of representation and expression in prose are emerging today, in our own present? How are contemporary life and the world we inhabit perceived and articulated in poetic texts and styles of writing? And what can poetry be under the conditions of a present that has itself become prosaic?

The readings and conversations offer an insight into the »workshops« of literary representation and its reflection. In doing so, they invite audience to enter into dialogue with the writers.
